What's included
- Clinical evaluation with a weight-health-trained physician
- Nutrition and lifestyle coaching
- Access to GLP-1 medications (semaglutide, tirzepatide) when medically appropriate
- Compound pharmacy access for personalized formulations
- Ongoing medical supervision and dose management
How it works in practice
Employees who meet clinical criteria (BMI, comorbidities) are evaluated by a physician. If medication is appropriate, prescriptions are coordinated through the compound pharmacy network at the program's contracted rates, dispensed monthly with supervision. Coaching runs in parallel through the app.
Retail GLP-1 cost ranges $900–$1,400 per month. A single year of clinically appropriate use through the program typically represents $8,000–$15,000 of value to the employee or family member.
How it integrates with existing coverage
Complements any existing wellness or chronic-condition program. Does not replace medical necessity coverage on the primary plan for related comorbid conditions (cardiac, endocrine).
Limitations
Being honest about what the benefit doesn't cover is more useful than pretending everything is included:
- Medication access requires clinical eligibility (BMI thresholds, comorbidity criteria, no contraindications)
- Supply availability for branded GLP-1 medications fluctuates; the program uses compound pharmacy when appropriate
- Not a substitute for bariatric surgery evaluation when clinically indicated
