A pre-tax employer-sponsored account that lets employees set aside money for qualified medical or dependent-care expenses incurred during the plan year.

In the context of EHP

FSAs and the SIMERP can both run through the same Section 125 cafeteria plan but cover different expense categories. The SIMERP focuses on preventative care reimbursement; the FSA is a broader medical-expense account. Coordination is handled at plan design.
